Classic Design Meets Classic Designer
I was browsing through the recent Southern Home magazine and came upon an article on Marshall Watson, a well-known designer, who has a New York base and comes to us from time to time for special architectural pieces.
Anyway, at the top left-hand corner of the page , which shows his answers to questions ,there’s a marvelous picture of Marshall on a chair in front of a pair of exceptional Louis XVI French carved pine doors from the 18th century (only a section is visible). Another article published a little while ago in Veranda gives a view of that same pair of doors in Marshall‘s apartment. We supplied those doors with the hardware , pre-hung in a jam. Getting them up to the apartment was not easy , but worth it don’t you think?
FEATURE DESIGNER PROFILE
Meet the Man Behind the Design
Marshall Watson is a master of proportional design who infuses classic interiors with an intentional, light-filled tranquility, frequently anchoring his spaces with authentic historical character. To achieve this signature old-world charm, he integrates meticulously sourced European antiques and restoration pieces often procured from Architectural Accents, Atlanta’s premier design showroom located in Buckhead. Drawing on his background in theater set design, Watson uses the showroom’s world-class inventory of antique mantels, salvaged doors, and bespoke hardware to frame a room like a stage. By pairing these distinct, historic Atlanta-sourced accents with plush, modern furnishings, he creates a harmonious tension where grand architectural bone structure seamlessly meets relaxed, contemporary luxury.
