Unique lamps for car enthusiasts

After a highly competitive run in historic racing, 3 wheel Morgan driver Jeff Jacobson is using his passion for precision machines to create extraordinary lamps in his home workshop in West Cornwall, CT, and which we have now the pleasure to display in our showroom.

The Light Machinery, as Jeff calls them, are one-of-a-kind table and wall lamps that revolve around original components of  famous race cars like the Alfa Romeo P3.

Jeff restores and races vintage cars and he applies to his lamps the same design principles and machining skills that he uses in building automotive engines.  His objective is to recognize and celebrate the intrinsic elegance of mechanical components.

The lamps are hand crafted, one-off,  utilizing a multitude of custom machined and fabricated stainless steel, brass, aluminum and cast iron components. Each model evolves from a deep understanding of the vehicle’s history and pays homage to the original mechanisms through impeccable craftsmanship. For instance, in the Steering Gear desk lamp pictured below, you can rotate either of the two knurled wheels and the meshed gears will smoothly turn in the same manner as they would have on the original car.
